Fishtail Air has been operating flights for Everest Skydive from Syangboche Airport this year as well. The unfavorable weather condition in the Himalayas because of the cyclone Phailin in India has affected the weather of entire Indian sub-continent. However, AS350B3 Helicopter 9N-AJI of Fishtail Air is operating at least three flight loads for the Skydive every day. Exclusive partner for this extreme event since its launch in 2007 Fishtail Air also made the flight load with French national Marc Kopp who set a record for being the first disable person to skydive in the shadow of Everest from the ceiling altitude of above 22000 ft on 27 October 2013.
Fishtail Air, has also been involved in carrying the skydivers back to Kathmandu after their successful dives.
Once again, a baby was given birth onboard during the flight to Kathmandu on Fishtail Air on 26, September 2013. Prior to this event, Ms. Kamala Aidi on December 21, 2013 and Ms. Roshni Acharya on February 14, 2011 had given birth to their respective child while onboard on Fishtail Air from Humla and Diktel respectively.
As soon as, the information was confirmed that woman was suffering in delivering a child in rustic Khumbu region, Captain Yogendra Mukhiya flew on a 9N AKA (B2) Fishtail Helicopter to Solukhumbu to provide her the safe maternity passage in a hospital in Kathmandu. The woman gave birth to her child onboard as soon as the Fishtail Air flew with her from Solukhumbu. She was safely brought to Teaching Hospital in the helicopter. The health condition of mother and child is absolutely sound.
Fishtail Air, congratulates her for newly born baby.
As the spring 2013 came to an end, Fishtail Air had yet another productive spell. From the beginning of the season since March, Fishtail Air effectively carried out more than 200 Rescue Flights as well as Cargo Shipment of over 1,00,000 kilograms. A handful number of mountain flights and search flights were conducted specially in the Everest and Dhaulagiri regions. Even history was made as we carried out the Highest Helicopter Rescue at the altitude of 7,800 meter (between Camp III & Camp IV). Likewise, filming with Reinhold Messner in Everest and Kanchenjunga Regions added an aura on the long list of extraordinary achievements of the company.
During these busy few months, our B3 Helicopter was based at Lukla to provide quick services to the foreign as well as Nepalese people. This helped in performing several triumphant rescues in Camp I and Camp II. All of our clients; foreigners and locals, were delighted with the services provided by Fishtail Air. Our helicopter is now based in the Far Western Region (Simikot) to assist and support pilgrimage tours to Mount Kailash during emergencies.
