Yet another Longline rescue at Island Peak

Longline Rescue

A Swiss lady was rescued this morning from Island Peak Base Camp on our B3 by our rescue team of Capt. Maurizio Folini and Capt. Simone Moro.

She was on her expedition when she collapsed at the base of the steep face, 150m before the summit of Island Peak (6189m approx.). The duo flew to base camp from where Simone Moro got into the longline and they flew to where the lady was stuck at 6050m. They evacuated her from the area and thereafter flew her in the helicopter to Lukla initially and then to the capital for medical attention.

We wish for her earliest recovery and thanking the Italian rescue duo once again.

    Ciao!Captain Maurizio Folini!

Congratulations on all your rescue work!!

    I am truly impressed…!

We met in Lukla briefly at the Himalayan lodge, where I was staying over night after finishing my EBC trek, november 02nd, 2012.

Aftterwards we met by chance in Pokhara, at the Hotel parking lot, I was leaving because there was no vacancy for me, and you were arriving for a one night stay.

I’m writing this because I would like to hire a responsible mountain guide, (my experience with the EBC trek, was not a very happy one), I even mentioned to you that six participants out of nine in the group, got Mountain Sickness, one Helicopter rescue and one Pulmonary edema.
Anyways, I am planning to explore the Dolpa region next year,(Crystal mountain area, Phoksundo lake, etc and was wondering if you could recommend someone experienced and responsible?

I live at the moment in Rio de janeiro, Brazil, and hike and trek in the surrounding area with a local mountain club.

Looking forward to hear from you!

    Un forte Abbraccio,

ps:you may check some of my mountain photos on my Facebook.
