We congratulate Captain Ashish Sherchan for being cleared for Cargo Sling Operations in Nepal.
On the 8th of March 2011 Fishtail Air team of Captain Ashish Sherchan and Engineer Anil Basnet left for Zermatt, Switzerland to receive training on the Cargo Sling operation. After two weeks of a tough regimen of training they were back. This season of flying saw Captain Ashish being involved in various Sling operations while the Air Zermatt team was stationed here since April. He received futher training from Air Zermatt team on our AS350B3 for cargo sling at Lukla. He was also involved along with Capt. Daniel Aufdenblatten in the Gorkha area for a sling cargo mission on various dates whereby they performed shuttles of cargo from remote areas from Barpark to Gumda VDC.
He has been officially cleared now for Sling operations in Nepal. Fishtail air is proud to have this additional skill which would help in advancing rescue and transport missions.
Captain Ashish Sherchan is Fishtail Air’s Operations Director and has been flying for nearly two decades now. He has more than 5000 hours of flight and has been involved in the Rotor wing industry of Nepal since 1995. He is also a Civil Aviation approved Instructor Pilot on the AS350 series. He is rated to fly AS 350 series, BK-117 and MI-17 helicopters.
